The presence of renowned scholars and activists at this conference provides the academic community and public at large with a unique opportunity to get a first hand exposure to and understanding of the various expressions of participation in Iranian women’s studies as articulated in the spheres of human rights, education, government and culture. We have invited over twenty speakers from around the globe for our three-day conference. We have invited Iranian performing artists and film directors to participate in our conferences. There is an art exhibition by Iranian visual artists.
This year’s conference focuses on Women for Change: Women’s Collaboration and Political Participation. The topics vary from Love in Egypt, Iran and Turkey: The Contradictions of Romance in the Facebook World to How have Religion, Politics, Ethnicity, Language and Sexuality Influenced Women’s Activism. The first day of the conference, will be in in both English and Persian. The second and third days the speakers will present in Persian only.
